Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Department of Chemistry and Forensic Science at EKU is seeking Part-Time Secondary Instructors to work with program faculty assisting in teaching undergraduate lectures and laboratories. Appointments will begin this Fall 2026 semester with options to renew on a semester-to-semester basis as available.

Course load may be up to 9 credit hours per semester depending on need. Courses may include but are not limited to: Introductory Chemistry General Chemistry Organic Chemistry Analytic Chemistry and associated labs.

Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelors degree in Chemistry or a related discipline or hold a bachelors degree and at least 18 graduate credit hours in Chemistry or a related discipline. Degree(s) must be from a regionally (SACS Middle States North Central etc.) accredited or internationally recognized institution.

Candidates will submit a cover letter curriculum vitae unofficial transcripts for undergraduate and graduate programs and contact information for at least 3 professional references. Review of applications will begin immediately.

Unofficial transcripts are acceptable at the time of application. Official transcripts are required at the time of the position offer and as a condition of employment.
