Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Part-Time Re-Entry Clinical Coordinator position in theHealth & Public position is locatedon Atlanta Technical Colleges main campus just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision of theAssociate Dean of Nursing & Related Programs the Part-Time Re-Entry Clinical Coordinatoris responsible for coordinating and/or conducting quality curriculum in the classroom & clinical settings. This is a part-time position up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate all clinical components of the TCSG Nurse Re-Entry Program for RN and/or LPN participants who select this participating college to complete theirClinical Study Course.
  • Identify and secure Georgia Board of Nursing-approved clinical preceptors for theClinical Study Course.
  • Coordinate and schedule participant clinical placements and supervised clinical experiences (including review of clinical onboarding requirement and documents and ensure clinical site approvals).
  • Ensure completion of all required clinical experiences within Georgia Board of Nursing and TCSG program timelines.
  • Verify that participants obtain required temporary permits before beginning supervised clinical practice.
  • Coordinate and/or facilitate required pre-clinical skills validation in medication administration physical assessment and intravenous therapy.
  • Recruit orient and provide ongoing support to clinical preceptors as needed.
  • Serve as the primary liaison among participants clinical preceptors healthcare agencies and the TCSG Nurse Re-Entry Program Manager.
  • Monitor participant progress throughout the clinical experience and provide guidance as needed.
  • Maintain required participant records and documentation in accordance with Georgia Board of Nursing TCSG institutional and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure completion and submission of all required clinical forms and documentation by established deadlines.
  • Verify completion of the required 160 hours of supervised clinical experience.
  • Collaborate with clinical preceptors to evaluate participant performance using provided competency and evaluation tools.
  • Ensure completion of required preceptor documentation including the Master Skills Checklist Evaluation of Nurse Re-Entry Readiness and Georgia Board of Nursing Form C.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare facilities and approved clinical agencies to support clinical placement needs.
  • Review participant and preceptor feedback and recommend improvements to TCSG Re-Entry Program to strengthen program effectiveness.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Georgia Board of Nursing rules Nurse Practice Act requirements and TCSG Nurse Re-Entry Program policies.
  • Perform other duties related to successful implementation of the Nurse Re-Entry Program as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and demonstratethe following:

  • Masters degree in Nursing.
  • Three to five (3 5) years of documented clinical experience in medical-surgical area.
  • Georgia State Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Good Standing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification by American Heart Association.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference may be given to candidates who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Doctoral Degree in Nursing or Education (DNP PhD or EdD).
  • Two (2) or more years of full-time work experience in Medical Surgical and/or Mother/Baby unit.
  • Minimum of one (1) year full-time teaching in an Associate Degree Nursing or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
