Job Description:

SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seekinga part-time Program Coordinator for Liberty Partnerships STARS Mentoring Program. The Program Coordinator supports two cohorts of the STARS Mentoring Program serving at-risk middle school and high school students. This role is responsible for mentor/mentee recruitment weekly session coordination training events data tracking and ensuring compliance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (BBBSC) program standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate two mentoring cohorts (minimum of 5 mentors and 20 mentees each).
  • Schedule and lead 23 weekly mentoring sessions.
  • Recruit screen and support mentors and mentees throughout the program.
  • Provide monthly mentor training (minimum of 6 hours).
  • Attend and support the annual Mentor Life Summit and Summer Mentor Leadership Training.
  • Maintain accurate attendance documentation and all grant-required timesheets.
  • Participate in monthly program check-ins and quarterly budget meetings with BBBSC.
  • Organize at least one community event focused on bullying/cyberbullying awareness.
Requirements:

  • Ability to facilitate small and large group activities and training.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel as required for program events and trainings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Human Services Social Work Education Psychology Youth Development Counseling Criminal Justice or a related field
  • Experience coordinating programs events activities or volunteer initiatives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience working with youth volunteers mentoring programs education human services community-based programs or related activities.

Special Information:

  • This is a grant-funded position with the current funding cycle running through July 31 2027.
  • VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Offers of employment will be conditional based on the successful completion of a background check and verification of official college transcripts and/or certifications.
  • All applicants must successfully complete a background check and fingerprinting through the New York State Education Department to work in any K-12 school setting in New York must also complete the BBBSC criminal background check and required training.

Salary: $17.34/hour
