This is a professional driving position. Mobile Security Officers operate a company patrol vehicle throughout their shift and are expected to follow all traffic laws posted speed limits seatbelt requirements and Securitas safe-driving policies at all times.
Securitas patrol vehicles are equipped with Samsara vehicle-safety technology that monitors driving activity and behavior. Officers must be comfortable working in a monitored company vehicle and receiving coaching or corrective action when necessary.
Safe and responsible driving is a condition of employment. Candidates who are not willing to follow company driving rules consistently or work in a monitored patrol vehicle should not apply.
This is a driving-based multi-site security position. It is not a stationary security assignment.
As a Part-Time Mobile Security Officer you will operate an assigned Securitas patrol vehicle and travel between client properties throughout Worcester Marlborough and surrounding Central Massachusetts communities.
You will work independently along an assigned weekend route completing scheduled security services following client-specific instructions documenting your work and responding appropriately when something is wrong.
Assignments may include scheduled or randomized patrol inspections alarm response guard checks temporary site coverage opening or securing facilities and other site-specific security services. Officers remain in communication with the Securitas operations team throughout their shift.
This position is well suited for someone seeking a consistent weekend schedule who enjoys working independently driving visiting different locations and taking responsibility for completing an assigned route accurately and on time.
- Safely operate an assigned Securitas patrol vehicle throughout the shift.
- Follow all traffic laws Securitas safe-driving requirements and vehicle-monitoring expectations.
- Travel between multiple client properties along an assigned route.
- Arrive at assigned locations within the required service windows.
- Conduct exterior and interior patrol inspections according to client-specific instructions.
- Check buildings grounds parking areas doors windows gates access points lighting alarm systems and other security-related equipment.
- Identify signs of unauthorized access forced entry vandalism suspicious activity property damage fire hazards blocked exits leaks and other unsafe conditions.
- Complete locking unlocking arming disarming key-control or access-related duties when assigned and properly trained.
- Respond to alarm activations and other dispatched calls assess conditions from a safe position and follow established escalation procedures.
- Contact the Securitas operations team emergency services client representatives or supervisors when required.
- Conduct guard checks and employee welfare checks and provide temporary site coverage when assigned.
- Maintain professional communication with clients employees visitors dispatchers supervisors and responding emergency personnel.
- Use GPS mobile reporting applications and other technology to document arrivals departures patrols observations and actions taken.
- Prepare accurate timely and detailed activity and incident reports including photographs when required.
- Immediately report security concerns route delays vehicle issues missed services accidents or situations requiring additional assistance.
- Securely maintain assigned keys access devices equipment and patrol vehicles.
- Valid drivers license.
- Clean driving record that meets Securitas Safe Driving requirements.
- Willingness to operate a company vehicle equipped with Samsara vehicle-safety monitoring.
- Ability and willingness to follow traffic laws and company driving policies throughout every shift.
- Ability to work every Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM11:00 PM.
- High school diploma GED or equivalent.
- Ability to speak read and write English effectively.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear activity and incident reports.
- Comfortable using smartphones GPS navigation mobile applications and digital reporting systems.
- Ability to work independently follow detailed instructions manage time and remain accountable for completing an assigned route.
- Strong judgment and the ability to remain calm during alarms suspicious activity safety concerns and emergencies.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to report to work on time.
- Ability to drive for extended periods frequently enter and exit a vehicle walk stand and climb stairs.
- Ability to conduct indoor and outdoor patrols in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned coverage area and occasionally assist outside the primary region when required by an emergency or operational need.
- At least one year of experience in security mobile patrol alarm response military service law enforcement public safety facilities operations delivery services or another position involving independent fieldwork and professional driving.
- Experience completing incident reports conducting property inspections managing keys or access devices or responding to dispatched calls.
- Familiarity with Worcester Marlborough Westborough and surrounding Central Massachusetts communities.
- Previous experience working independently with limited direct supervision.
- Strong customer service experience and a professional approachable demeanor.
The strongest candidates will be dependable safety-minded observant and comfortable spending a significant portion of the shift driving between locations. They must be able to manage an assigned route follow detailed instructions and make sound decisions without constant supervision.
This position requires more than simply arriving at each property. Officers must complete every assigned service correctly recognize when something is unusual document it clearly and take the appropriate next step.
