Part-time Instructional Assistant TEACH Program

TheChester County Intermediate Unit(CCIU)has an opening for apart-time Instructional Assistant within the Divisionof Student Services. This position is located at our TCHS Pickering campus in Phoenixville working with 9th to 12th grade students that emotional support in a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience working with secondary students preferred
• Currentpolice child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances (within one year)required before start date

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Applicants will be responsible for assisting students with varying levels of abilities and support needs with the implementation of educational and skills programming in a special education environment
• Must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team in an educational setting
• Assisting the Teacher:
  • Preparing instructional materials
  • Maintaining discipline and other behavior management functions
  • Arranging the learning environment
  • Assembling adjusting and maintaining equipment and technology used in the instructional program
  • Administering educational assessments
  • Performing other duties as assigned
• Assisting with Students:
  • Working with individual students or small groups on activities assigned by the teacher
  • Assisting within the constraints of specific program regulations in the supervision of students during non-instructional times throughout the day such as lunchtime entering or exiting the building etc

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday 185 days per year 6.5 hours per day

The IA pay scale is broken down below for you toreference.

• 0 - 9yrs experience $18.72
• 10- 13yrs experience $20.53
• 14- 17yrs experience $22.41
• 18- 25yrs experience $24.26
• *Bachelors degree isequivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale $18.72
• *Masters degree isequivalent to 15 yrsexperience on the scale $22.41
