Part-time Harbormaster

The Town of Riverhead Police Department is looking for a part-time Harbormaster to add to the team. This position will be capped at 17.5 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $28.00.

Job Description:

-Enforces federal state and local marine ordinances

-Maintains orderly and safe boating conditions

-Operates all types of marine vessels works closely with U.S. Coast Guard

-Maintain records and prepare reports of harbor activities

-Layout and install various types of buoys markers and other navigation aides in Town harbors and channels in accordance with federal and state guidelines

Qualifications:

-Posses certificate completing boating safety course

-Able to read/write English

-Must have served as a Police Officer or Peace Officer within the preceding one-year period and must hold a current valid Police Officer or Peace Officer certification

-Navigation Experience
