Part-time Faculty, Mathematics – Mathematics & Statistics Steubenville

Teach by semester for entry-level mathematics and statistics courses including but not limited to undergraduate-level general education statistics college algebra quantitative reasoning or trigonometry. Develop and deliver face-to-face instruction in mathematics and statistics.

Plans organizes teaches and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students departments and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule:Typically Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments at the Steubenville Ohio location.

Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status:Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Minimum Qualifications:At least an earned masters degree in mathematics or earned bachelors degree in mathematics and graduate degree in a related field by the time of appointment. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:Prior college-level teaching experience or appropriate K-12 teaching certification. Proficiency with instructional tools and technology. Experience teaching online courses or experience with WebAssign MyLabsPlus/MyMathLab and/or Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS).

Physical Requirements:In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings this position will perform sedentary work.

Sedentary:work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
