Job Summary

Job Title: Part-Time Communications Specialist

Reports to:
Communications Director

Employment Status: Part time/hourly

Compensation: $30/hr

Benefits: Pension contribution; 401K; PTO; Flexible scheduling; Reimbursement for travel

Location: Remote. Occasional travel is required within the state of Pennsylvania for various events. Applicants required to live in the state of PA (or planning to move to the state of PA).



Position Description:

Help us tell the story of the Training and Education Fund! A successful communications specialist will design film write and edit engaging digital content for our social and other web platforms. Theyll track online trends help build awareness of our mission and our impact on frontline caregivers lives and interact with followers to grow our online community. Youll also help develop marketing and advertising strategies and campaigns and be a key creative partner in the growth of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Write content and develop graphics and video blog posts newsletters etc. as assigned;
  • Develop video and graphic content for the organizations social media channels 1-2 times a week;
  • Update Frontline website on a bi-weekly (twice a week) basis and provide support for TEF website as requested;
  • Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the companys policies principles and strategies and keep up-to-date with relevant developments;
  • Work with key internal TEF staff to brainstorm content ideas in line with the organizations strategy and in support of various TEF brand initiatives;
  • Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team developing a weekly report of metrics;
  • Take lead on communications planning and execution for the annual Frontline graduation event;
  • Help drive strategic messages to key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Maintain a satisfactory level of quality and productivity per the organizations standards;
  • Attend meetings as requested and other responsibilities as assigned.


Essential Skills/Attributes:

  • Strong computer literacy is a must with strong skills in Google Microsoft Office Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva and other internet and digital platforms;
  • Familiarity with CMS and CRM systems;
  • Proven social media and content creation skills;
  • Strong interviewing and video production skills;
  • Strategic and creative mindset;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a rapidly changing environment;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a diverse group of people in a team environment;
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills; and
  • Experience working for a labor union or social justice organization preferred.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in communications journalism public relations or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years experience in communications strategy development
