Job Description

Scope

This position is responsible for the timely preparation of food to be served complying with applicable sanitation health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. Ensure appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss and waste.

Qualifications

The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:

• A strong clearChristian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
• A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
• Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith

The ideal candidate shall:

• Possess proficientinterpersonal relations and communicative skills
• Have the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
• Complete requirementsfor in-service training and dress code requirements
• Have a servants heart
• Have a willingness to learn
• Assist in an entire team effort

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Maintain skills necessary to safely andefficiently operate cafeteria equipment and machines
• Preparation of food served using establishedproduction procedures and guidelines
• Store food properly and safely by dating items
• Reports necessary equipment repair andmaintenance
• Learn all details of each position in the cafeteria
• Maintain cleanliness and follow all Health Department guidelines

Outcomes

• Efficiently operates cafeteria equipment and machines
• Follows established rules and guidelines pertaining to food preparation
• Maintains personal health and sanitation standards according to State and Federal guidelines

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 40 pounds
• Constant bending twisting lifting and pulling
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time

Reporting Relationship

The cafeteria assistant is responsible to the Cafeteria Manager.
