Part-Time 10-Month Position The Spire School Stamford CT
As an Art Teacher at The Spire School you will design and deliver engaging art instruction for students in grades 612 with diverse learning profiles and social-emotional needs. Youll help students strengthen their artistic skills creativity confidence and self-expression through a variety of techniques and this role you will create a structured and welcoming classroom adapt instruction to meet individual needs and collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to support each students growth and success..
What Youll Need
Plan and deliver engaging art instruction aligned with Connecticut State Standards incorporating art history and diverse artists movements and styles.
Teach a variety of artistic techniques and media including drawing illustration graphite charcoal acrylic and watercolor painting color theory composition and mixed-media projects.
Differentiate lessons and projects based on students individual abilities interests learning profiles and social-emotional needs.
Create and maintain an organized welcoming and visually engaging classroom with clear expectations and appropriate structure.
Monitor document and report student progress while contributing relevant information to the IEP and progress-monitoring processes.
Build positive relationships with students and help them develop confidence independence perseverance and self-expression through the arts.
Collaborate closely with teachers clinicians school counselors school leadership and families to support student success.
Participate as an active member of The Spire School community and perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.
What Youll Do
Deliver adaptive art instruction using research-based practices modify lessons to meet diverse student needs and create a positive inclusive learning environment.
Develop and maintain lesson plans instructional materials and accurate documentation of student progress and skill development.
Differentiate instruction and implement behavior supports as needed to ensure meaningful and safe participation for all students.
Collaborate with colleagues follow school-wide expectations contribute to non-instructional activities and communicate effectively with staff and families.
Integrate technology into instruction supervise students across various school settings and perform other duties as assigned to support school and program success.
