Are you passionate about animals and looking for a rewarding opportunity to work hands-on in animal care and protection The Hamilton Township Animal Shelter (HTAS) is currently seeking compassionate dedicated individuals to join our team as Part-Time Animal Attendants. This role offers a unique chance to care for animals in need while supporting vital community services. Ideal candidates will enjoy a fast-paced meaningful work environment where no two days are ever the same!

What Youll Do:

Under the guidance of the Shelter Manager youll play a key role in:

• Feeding exercising grooming and enriching the lives of our shelter animals
• Safely handling animals including those with behavioral challenges
• Keeping habitats clean sanitized and comfortable for all residents
• Monitoring animal health and well-being reporting any concerns promptly
• Assisting during exams and medical procedures
• Performing daily custodial duties to maintain a clean safe shelter
• Answering phones updating records and helping match adopters with their new best friends
• Have your NJ ACO license Help support animal control tasks such as safely capturing stray animals enforcing local animal ordinances and educating the community

Who Were Looking For:

Were seeking individuals who are:

• Experienced or knowledgeable in animal care and handling
• Willing to learn how to work with challenging animal behaviors
• Comfortable with physical labor and lifting/moving heavy objects
• Responsible observant and detail-oriented
• Great communicators with basic clerical skills

Qualifications:

• Availability for weekend evening and holiday shifts is required
• Animal Control Officer Certification issued by the NJ Department of Health is a bonus but not required
• Valid NJ Drivers License
