Part-time Administrative Assistant

Job Summary
Major Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will assist both floors of the Student Success Center with daily tasks including but not limited to the following:
- Library (First Floor)
- Oversee the floor when on the desk
- Check in/check out materials to students staff and faculty
- Shelve books using the Library of Congress system
- Answer basic research questions
- Assist with bookstore related questions during the weeks when the bookstore is officially closed
- Work on small projects as requested by the librarian
- Have a working knowledge of the library website and the associated guides/forms which are housed there
- Learning Resource Center (Second Floor)
- Oversee the floor when on the desk
- Work on small projects as requested by the Learning Resource Center supervisor (or designee)
- Answer questions regarding tutoring and the tutoring schedule
- Assist with getting students logged in within the tutoring area
- Shared tasks
- Assist with basic printing questions and needs
- Turn in help desk (IT) and facilities tickets when needed
- When opening the building follow all appropriate procedures
- When closing the building follow all appropriate procedures
- Be a welcoming face to visitors and community members when they come to campus
- Transfer phone calls and take phone messages
- Assist with emergency situations as appropriate within the colleges Emergency Preparedness Plan
Other Responsibilities
This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties associated with this role may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) other applicable regulatory requirements and professional standards.
Weekly Hour and Availability Expectations:
This position will be 14-20 hours a week with additional hours possible (up to a limit of 28 hours). Evenings are required with other times of day possible. Currently no weekend hours are included.
Compensation:
$16.50 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required associate degree or higher preferred.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and possess relevant work experience.
- Exhibit appropriate confidentiality with student data.
- Experience in customer service
- Be a self-starter well organized flexible and able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in public/academic libraries
