About the Employer

The Merced County Office of Education assists Merced Countys 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction alternative education business services early education technology migrant education special education and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.

Job Summary

Under the direction of a migrant supervisor Migrant Education Program and with input from the school site principal/designee will provide individual and small group tutoring to migrant students during the regular year program at an after school site and/or in the home. Will be responsible for providing tutoring in reading writing mathematics English Language Development and other academic subjects as needed for students to meet grade level standards; may include student observation in the classroom setting meeting with the classroom teacher and or school-site principal and/or designee. This position is not included in the classified bargaining unit and is not subject to terms of the union agreement regarding membership payment of like fee or donation to recognized attached job description for complete details.

If using personal vehicle in the course of employment must have proof of liability insurance required by law.1. DMV printout (Driving Record)2. Must be NCLB/ESSA compliant through locally development assessment or have 48-college units or an Associate Degree3. Must furnish own transportation4. Must be bilingual in the language of the children being served (Spanish)Candidates who meet MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS but lack NCLB certification may be scheduled for an exam.
