- Description
This part-time position reports to the Dean of Workforce and provides essential instructional technical and operational support to the Digital Media department. Responsibilities include assisting students and faculty with software hardware equipment lab activities and production workflows; managing the checkout and return of media equipment; preparing instructional spaces; troubleshooting technical issues; maintaining equipment and inventory; and supporting departmental projects events and instructional resources.
- Essential Functions/Duties
- Provide direct instructional and technical support to professors during class lab and production sessions.
- Offer tutoring and one-on-one assistance to students with software hardware equipment and concepts related to Digital Media course requirements.
- Assist students with Digital Media lab activities assignments and project workflows.
- Manage the checkout and return of media equipment and resources available for student use and classroom demonstrations.
- Prepare and set up lab materials equipment studio spaces and supplies for class activities and demonstrations.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshoot classroom computers software and equipment.
- Assist with installation configuration basic maintenance and routine performance checks of equipment hardware and software.
- Maintain accurate equipment inventory records including tagging transaction logging and reporting equipment performance issues.
- Assist faculty with classroom demonstrations complex project setups and student assessments as appropriate.
- Create or assist in creating high-quality video tutorials documentation instructional materials and other resources that support the Digital Media curriculum.
- Provide support for departmental events initiatives and outreach activities.
- Typical Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Digital Media production practices equipment software and classroom/lab workflows.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with students faculty staff and departmental leadership.
- Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and provide patient effective one-on-one assistance.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware software and equipment issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced instructional environment.
- Ability to handle equipment responsibly and follow safety procedures.
- General office and computer skills including word processing spreadsheets databases and online resources.
- Good human relations skills and ability to maintain confidential student information.
Working Conditions/Additional Information:- Approximately 20 hours per week.
- This is a part-time on-campus position supporting the Digital Media department.
- Work may occur in classrooms computer labs studios and production spaces.
- Position may require lifting carrying transporting and setting up media equipment and supplies.
- Position may require occasional participation in departmental productions events outreach activities or activities outside regularly scheduled class sessions.
Required Education:- Associates degree in Digital Media Graphic Design Film/Video Production Multimedia or a related field.
Required Experience:- Experience with digital media equipment production workflows creative software instructional technology or related technical support is preferred.
- Relevant professional academic production or laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
