Job Summary
Reporting to the Classroom/Shop Teacher/Administrator to whom the Paraprofessional is assigned performs any combination of instructional tasks in a classroom/shop to assist in making the school setting effective and efficient wherever and whenever possible.

- Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom/shop teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
- Plans prepares and develops various teaching aids such as bibliographies charts and graphs.
- Presents subject matter to students utilizing a variety of methods and techniques such as lecture discussion and supervised role-playing.
- Assists students as assigned individually or in groups with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
- Assists the teacher in preparing the room for school and in keeping the classroom/shop neat and orderly.
- Help prepare and distribute lesson materials; assist the teacher in arranging bulletin boards class displays learning center materials parent notices etc.
- Assist in storing materials and getting the classroom/shop ready for closing of school.
- Responsible for distribution of correspondence.
- Any other relative duties as required by the Classroom/Shop Teacher and/or Administrator.
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree or Passing Score on the ParaPro Test
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred
Skills Abilities & Knowledge:
- Must demonstrate an interest in working with adolescents.
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.
- Must have well-established communication skills and the ability to share information and resources appropriately.
- Must possess a high-level of interpersonal skills; general pleasant demeanor and respectful attitude towards employees at all levels of the school.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software.
- Must be organized detail-oriented and maintain confidentiality.

- Physical Demands: Minimal to light physical effort is generally required in performing duties in a classroom environment. This position requires the ability to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand.
