Available Lunch/Recess Paraprofessional Position:

Location: Smith Elementary 3.0 hours per day (10:30 am -1:30 pm)
Pay Rate: Per SMESPA Contract
Date(s): 26-27 School Year

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• High School diploma
• Demonstrated aptitude and competency in interacting with students and adults
• Ability to work successfully with minimal direct supervision

Responsibilities:

• Provide active attentive and engaged supervision of students during lunch and recess.
• Monitor the cafeteria playground and surrounding areas to promote a safe orderly and welcoming environment.
• Model and reinforce appropriate behaviors including respectful communication good manners sharing taking turns following directions and using equipment appropriately.
• Maintain awareness of all students and surroundings at all times.
• Assist with transitions to and from lunch and recess.
• Communicate significant concerns injuries behavioral issues or incidents to appropriate school staff.
• Other duties as assigned
