Description

Reeves Lavallee P.C. is a Worcester-based family law and civil litigation firm and were looking for an experienced paralegal to support our growing legal team. This is a role for someone who takes real ownership of case files keeps court deadlines from ever becoming a fire drill and treats client confidentiality as a given not a reminder.

Youll work directly with attorneys on family law matters from intake through trial preparation drafting filing client interviews discovery and everything in between. Legal Knowledge and Proficiency
  • Extensive experience as a paralegal specifically in Family Law including Financial Statements Discovery and Motions & Pleadings.
  • Conduct legal research and apply findings directly to case work.
  • Draft motions briefs and other legal documents.
  • This firm treats real estate transaction documents (purchases and sales) as a connected part of the practice not a separate specialty experience here is a real plus.
Client Interaction and Support
  • Interview clients to gather information about their legal matters with sensitivity to what are often difficult family circumstances.
  • Explain legal procedures clearly and professionally.
  • Maintain confidentiality and client trust without exception.
Case Management
  • Keep the case filing system organized so every document is readily accessible.
  • Prepare for trial: legal research organizing exhibits coordinating witnesses.
  • File motions and meet every court deadline no exceptions.
Collaboration and Team Support
  • Work directly with attorneys preparing documentation and correspondence interrogatories subpoenas deposition notices complaints pretrial orders legal briefs affidavits.
  • Coordinate law office activity including drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers.
  • Support and help train newer team members as the team grows.
Document Accuracy and Attention to Detail
  • Accuracy in drafting and reviewing legal documents with thorough fact-checking and citation verification.
  • Keep case files updated and accurate at all times.
Problem-Solving and Initiative
  • Identify issues proactively and propose practical solutions.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm setting specifically in Family Law.
  • Completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program an Associates degree or proprietary paralegal-studies program. Bachelors degree desired.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High-level organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience drafting and managing Real Estate transaction documents (purchases and sales).
  • Paralegal professional certification or advanced paralegal education.

Required Skills:

Responsibilities Front Desk and Client Support Run the full daily FOH task list including reception coverage message handling and coordination with attorneys and paralegals. Greet clients professionally and keep a calm organized presence making sure every visitor follows check-in procedures. Answer phones promptly route calls accurately and capture complete messages with proper internal documentation. Keep the waiting area polished and uphold the firms standard for client experience. Administrative Workflow Execution Complete all assigned daily tasks on schedule without reminders. Handle incoming and outgoing mail: scanning labeling organizing physical and digital files and routing everything to the right place. Maintain a clean digital organization in MyCase and Google Drive including file naming uploading and task management. Support attorneys by preparing packets printing documents and completing clerical work as assigned. Track attorney calendars client appointments and next steps to keep daily operations running smoothly. Office Operations Keep office supplies FOH materials and printing resources stocked and ready. Assist with document preparation copying scanning mailing and data entry. Support management on administrative projects that demand accuracy and on-time delivery. Protect confidentiality and follow firm procedures without exception. Qualifications Required At least 1 year in a professional office environment. Proven ability to follow detailed instructions and execute structured workflows. Strong attention to detail accuracy and time management. Excellent written and verbal communication. High comfort with computers and cloud systems and the ability to learn new software quickly. Professional demeanor reliability and punctuality. Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting without losing accuracy. A commitment to accountability including owning mistakes and correcting them. Preferred Experience in a law firm medical office financial office or other regulated environment. Familiarity with MyCase Google Workspace or similar case management platforms.
