Recruitment Number 26-189JC Paralegal Assistant II SR-20 Kapolei Oahu.
- Summary of Duties
Performs difficult and complex paralegal work in support of attorneys or judges involving legal research drafting and checking documents and forms and assisting in various other areas as assigned; and performs other related duties as required.
- Minimum Qualification Requirements
General Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible paralegal work experience which demonstrates that the applicant possesses knowledge of legal terminology and forms; legal research methods and sources of legal information; types of court actions court rules and procedures; legal writing; interviewing techniques; and that the applicant also has the ability to read and understand laws statutes rules and legal documents; understand legal processes and procedures; prepare process and maintain legal records forms documents reports and correspondence; perform legal research compile summarize and digest materials draft documents and prepare reports; and follow oral and written instructions.
Specialized Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible paralegal work experience which demonstrated knowledge of the court system and the ability to perform legal analysis and research; and prepare drafts outlines or summaries of legal subjects laws statutes briefs and other legal documents.
Substitution of Education for Experience:
1. Graduation from an accredited Legal Secretary curriculum may be substituted for one (1) year of General Experience.
2. Graduation from an accredited Paralegal/Legal Assistant training program with at least 60 semester credits may be substituted for the four (4) years of General Experience requirement.
3. Graduation from an accredited School of Law may be substituted for all of the required General and Specialized Experience.- Supplemental Information
