Additional Information:

We are looking for someone who has a heart for kids who can work independently
and who is a quick learner even if they dont yet know how to do something. We are
looking for someone who is creative and resourceful. We are also looking for
someone willing to use a range of social emotional learning skills and restorative
practices when working with students in classrooms in small groups on the
playground and during lunch. If someone interested in this position doesnt yet have
these skills we are looking for someone who is open to learning them and using
them with students. Though not required we prefer candidates who are bilingual as
our school serves students who speak over 30 languages.
We are a larger school with approximately 700 students. Springville has a strong
student staff and family community. Our families are very supportive of our school
and each staff member is committed to the growth and success of each of our
students. Our Para 1 position involves student supervision during lunches and recess
and supporting students in classrooms.

Purpose:
The Paraeducator 1 assists the Teacher in the delivery of an instructional program through preparation of the classroom and materials and through working with individual and small groups of students. The Paraeducator 1 also provides supervision of student activities in order to ensure that the school maintains a safe and orderly environment.
