Must be available for flexible hours as needed.

Job Description

Summary
Prepares surfaces and applies paint varnish stain enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces trimmings and fixtures of buildings and other structures. Installs and repairs wall coverings as needed as well as minor carpentry wall and ceiling repairs. Responsible for the maintenance and inventory of painting and related supplies. Must be available for flexible hours as needed.

Job Duties

• Interacts with co-workers visitors and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
• Paints varnishes stains etc. existing and new surfaces inside and outside the hospital buildings and properties as directed.
• Applies scratch coat and finish plaster to walls for painting; installs backing material (i.e. metal lath) into areas to be plastered;seals surfaces prior to painting; cleans walls to ensure proper adherence.
• Selects premixed paints stains and other finish coatings or prepares paints stains and other finish coatings to match specifiedcolors or finishes by blending or mixing required proportions of pigment oil thinning and drying substances.
• Uses ladders and scaffolding as required and installs and repairs wall coverings as needed.
• Fills holes cracks and joints with putty spackle caulking or other filler; applies paint to surfaces including walls floors doorsand cabinets.
• Completes hospital rounds to identify and resolve regulatory compliance deficiencies.
• Works with and assists department trades as needed and performs other hospital maintenance duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of HSE policy ability to implement HSE policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
• Knowledge of and ability to ensure safe practices in daily operations and effective maintenance and repair services for physical premises.
• Knowledge of the full spectrum of facilities management activities ability to maintain care for and develop commercial and physical facilities.
• Knowledge of the physical environment and full spectrum of activities in developing and maintaining physical facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED HS Diploma or equivalent
• Previous related experience

Physical Demands
Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking squatting kneeling crawling climbing and reaching overhead.
