Packaging Technician I
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor/FSQA Manager/Supvervisor packages all raw and smoked products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cuts and packages processed products.
- Uses shrink machine to wrap packages
- Labels all packages according to USDA guidelines
- Weighs and prices all packaged products
- Boxes all products and prepares them for shipping
- Operates the packaging machine.
- Weighs and prices product
- Produces raw product according to USDA
- Sanitizes and maintains packaging equipment
- Cleans and sanitizes the packaging area according to USDA
- Observes safety and security standards.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
One to two years of food manufacturing experience preferred
Food Handler Certification can assist you in obtaining this
Language Skills
Ability to understand English for all job-related circumstances.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add subtract using whole numbers.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job he/she is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; and talk or hear. He/she is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. He/she must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Exposed to heat and cold temperatures throughout the work day.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
