Tuesday - Saturday 10:00pm - 6:00am

Job Summary
ââThe Withdrawal Management Technician (Tech) supports the delivery of safe high-quality person-centered care to individuals receiving withdrawal management services in accordance with Minnesota Statutes Chapter 245F. This position assists with client monitoring health screenings activities of daily living documentation and maintaining a safe and supportive environment. The Technician works collaboratively with nursing counseling and medical staff to support client care safety and recovery in a licensed withdrawal management setting.â
Essential Job Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential functions include the following:
- Monitor clients for changes in physical emotional or behavioral status and promptly report concerns to appropriate clinical or nursing staff.
- Conduct and document client observations health screening activities and monitoring activities at required intervals in accordance with program policies and Minnesota Statutes Chapter 245F.
- Obtain monitor and accurately document vital signs weight and other health information as required by program protocols.
- Meet with clients to obtain and document relevant health information current concerns and observations necessary to support ongoing monitoring and communicate findings to nursing staff.
- Recognize and report signs and symptoms of intoxication withdrawal medical instability seizure activity delirium over-sedation dehydration or other health concerns.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene grooming ambulation hydration nutrition and personal care needs.
- Assist in sanitation and disinfection of the facility.
- Support implementation of withdrawal management services and client care plans as directed by licensed nursing staff or medical providers.
- Assist with medication-related processes as assigned and permitted by Minnesota law Minnesota Statutes Chapter 245F MnTC policy and scope of responsibility under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing staff or qualified medical professional.
- Maintain accurate timely and confidential client documentation in accordance with HIPAA MN Statutes 245F and program requirements.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance using trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.
- Assist with admission and discharge procedures including documentation support room preparation and belongings inventory.
- Participate in safety checks contraband procedures facility rounds and incident reporting in accordance with program requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness infection control standards universal precautions and bloodborne pathogen safety practices.
- Participate in emergency response procedures including activation of emergency medical services and administration of naloxone consistent with training and MnTC policy.
- Communicate relevant client observations and concerns to nursing staff prescribers emergency responders and multidisciplinary team members to support continuity of care.
- Support and protect client rights in accordance with Minnesota law program requirements & MnTC policy.
- Complete and maintain compliance with MnTC and DHS related training as required by MN Statutes 245F and DHS licensing standards.
- Follow all organizational policies procedures and state licensing requirements governing withdrawal management services.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a healthcare behavioral health substance use disorder treatment withdrawal management residential treatment corrections human services or recovery services setting required.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare behavioral health substance use disorder treatment or human services setting strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of substance use disorders withdrawal symptoms client monitoring procedures and recovery-oriented care practices.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain certification prior to providing direct client care in accordance with Minnesota Statutes Chapter 245F.
- Knowledge of basic health care practices infection control and vital sign monitoring.
- Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to medical and behavioral health emergencies.
- Ability to accurately observe document and communicate client status withdrawal symptoms behavioral changes and safety concerns to licensed nursing staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries while working with individuals experiencing crisis intoxication or withdrawal management symptoms.
- Commitment to trauma-informed person-centered and recovery-oriented care practices.
- Comfort and compassion in working with individuals facing life-controlling challenges such asmental health issues and addiction.
- Demonstrate MnTCs mission Culture of Honor core values and Putting Honor in Action principles through daily interactions fostering a welcoming respectful and relationship-centered environment.
- At least one year of freedom from problematic substances.
- Must meet staff qualification and training requirements applicable to withdrawal management personnel under Minnesota Statutes Chapter 245F.
- Must successfully complete all required withdrawal management training and demonstrate competency in client rights health screening procedures observation and monitoring first aid CPR and activities of daily living as required under Minnesota Statutes Chapter 245F prior to providing direct client care.
- Must pass a DHS background study as required under MN Statutes Chapter 245C and maintain eligibility to work in a licensed withdrawal management program.

- Must be able to occasionally lift carry push and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending stooping reaching and prolonged standing and walking are required.
- Ability to safely assist clients with mobility needs activities of daily living and emergency situations.
- Ability to respond promptly to emergencies and move throughout the facility as needed to ensure client safety.
- Ability to work in an environment serving individuals experiencing substance intoxication withdrawal symptoms mental health concerns and behavioral health crises.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings weekends holidays and overnight shifts as required by program operations.
- Regular on-site attendance is required to support client care safety and program operations. This position is not eligible to work remotely.
Compensation:
Target Compensation (based on qualifications):
$21 to $23 per hour
