Job Summary

We are looking to add an Overnight Manager to our team. This position is responsible for overseeing all operations within hotel during the overnight shift ensuring guest satisfactionmaintaining security managing overnight staff and acting as the primary point of contact for any issues that arise overnight.

Job description

  • Respond to emergency situations including but not limited to safety hazards fires medical emergencies and threats to life and/or property
  • Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the Front Office department/Overnight Staff making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the guidelines set in the employee handbook hotel policies and procedures coaching training and correcting where needed.
  • Maintain a professional and high-quality service oriented environment at all times
  • Act as manager on duty for the hotel in the absence of the Front Office Manager dealing with complaints problem-solving disturbances special requests and any other issues that may arise
  • Manage the night shift in the department ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate Front Office activities with other departments
  • Inform all Overnight staff of nightly activities group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests.
  • Exercise key control process lost and found items
  • Conduct vehicle and foot patrols of property
  • Conduct Fire Watch when needed
  • Promote safe work practices to include life safety inspections
  • Initiates preliminary investigations into incidents as needed
  • Writes reports and ensures accuracy of necessary documentation as needed
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues in a timely friendly and efficient manner
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelors degree preferred or
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management Hospitality Business Administration or related major; 2 years experience in the guest services front desk housekeeping or related professional area.
  • Intermediate knowledge of overall hotel operations.
  • Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays weekends and alternate shifts.
