Job Summary

Outpatient Psychiatrist Fort HealthCare Behavioral Health
Location: Fort Atkinson WI
Position Type: Full-Time
Specialty: Psychiatry (BC/BE)

The Outpatient Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation diagnosis and ongoing medication management for patients in an outpatient clinical setting. This role focuses on delivering evidence-based patient-centered mental health care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team to support long-term recovery and wellness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications including monitoring efficacy and side effects
  • Provide supportive psychotherapy as appropriate
  • Collaborate with psychologists therapists primary care providers and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate timely and compliant clinical documentation
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards state regulations and organizational policies
  • Provide crisis intervention and referrals to higher levels of care when indicated
  • Participate in case conferences clinical meetings and quality improvement activities

Patient Population

  • Adults / Children & Adolescents / Geriatric
  • Common conditions treated may include mood disorders anxiety disorders psychotic disorders ADHD PTSD and substance use disorders

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active (or eligible) state medical license
  • DEA registration
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology

Preferred

  • Experience in outpatient or community mental health settings
  • Subspecialty training (e.g. Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Addiction Psychiatry)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Patient-centered and culturally competent approach to care
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Time management and organizational skills

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Outpatient clinic setting
  • 4-5 clinic days
  • Limited on-call requirements (telephone)
  • In-person hybrid or telepsychiatry options may be available
