JOB DESCRIPTION:

The student intern will assist the Florida Student Success Center (FSSC) staff in daily activities with the opportunity to work on various special projects. This is an established internship program in which the intern reports to the Director of the FSSC. The commitment is 20 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:

  • Conduct relevant research and data analysis
  • Assist in creating reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with staff on special projects/events as needed
  • Participate in regular professional development training opportunities
  • Support unit and agency efforts during the Legislative Session
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Licensure/Registration/Certification/Experience or Education:

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher and at least 60 completed undergraduate credit hours.
  • Strong communication writing and analytical skills
  • Experience with Adobe and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working in a professional office environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferences will be given to:

  • Currently enrolled graduate student or advanced upper division undergraduate student
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Interest in government operations higher education and/or public administration.

EDUCATIONAL SUBSITITUIONS:

F.S. 112.219 - Substitution of work experience for postsecondary educational requirements.

  • A bachelors degree from an accredited college or University can substitute for 4 years of direct experience.

Related work experience may not substitute for any licensure certification or registration required by an agency and indicated in the advertised job description.
