Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a1st Shift Pouring Operatorat our Tupelo/Verona MSmanufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe operation of a specific piece of equipment used in the manufacture of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence. As an hourly Pouring Operator the successful candidate will be expected to communicate daily with multiple levels of Company personnel and most importantly with the Managers Supervisors and employees in the manufacturing plant. Operator A - Pouring works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.
Additional responsibilities of the Pouring Operator position will include:
- Set up paper and plastics for each days production.
- Monitor paper and plastic during production.
- Maintain a neat orderly and safe working environment.
- Assists operators in setting up and shutting down each pour and during trough changes.
Skills/ Requirements
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
- Must be hoist and forklift certified.
- 3-6 months of manufacturing experience.
- Basic reading writing and math skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours weekends holidays and call-in with little notice.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test and participate on the HAZMAT team
