Summary

Operates advanced or more sophisticated equipment and machinery in head press shops to produce railcar parts and sub-assemblies operates machinery to move railcar parts and sub-assemblies operates forklift and overhead cranes to move material.

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

• Operates advanced and sophisticated equipment including but not limited to a 4000-ton press CNC plasma machines and plasma cutting torches.
• Operates forklifts and overhead cranes of various sizes for both in order to move rail car parts.
• Ensures equipment is maintained and operating properly before beginning work.
• Ensures safety and housekeeping standards are met maintained.

Qualifications

The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6 months experience operating various types of manufacturing equipment
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and operating procedures
• Ability to navigate a computer
• Ability to work with a team as well as work independently
• Ability to obtain in-house forklift certifications

Work Environment
