Job Summary
SummaryResponsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department including providing patient meals cafeteria services catering and ensuring the efficient and high-quality delivery of nutrition services while maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.

Essential Functions
-Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Nutrition and Food Services department including meal preparation meal assembly and meal delivery to patients and cafeteria customers.
-Ensure the timely and accurate production of meals adhering to established recipes and portion control standards.
-Maintain adherence to food safety sanitation and infection control standards in food preparation and service areas.
-Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.
-Recruit train and supervise food service staff ensuring they are knowledgeable about food safety protocols patient diet orders and customer service.
-Address customer inquiries complaints and feedback promptly and professionally.
-Assist in developing and managing the departments budget ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising food quality and safety.
-Ensure staff are trained in safe food handling practices and provided with necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety resources
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree Foodservice Management NOT required nor bachelors degree Related Field of Study required

Licenses and Credentials
Experience
Food Service Experience 5-7 years preferred and Management Experience 3-5 years required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of food safety regulations nutrition principles and dietary requirements for various patient populations.
- Knowledge of healthcare-specific dietary requirements and therapeutic diets is advantageous.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams with varied experiences and viewpoints
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to oversee food service operations efficiently.
- Budgeting and financial management skills to support departmental operations within allocated resources.
