Reporting to the Plant Manager the Operations Manager leads all manufacturing logistics and warehouse operations for the Livermore facility. The role is accountable for delivering safe efficient and cost-effective operations while achieving customer quality productivity and financial objectives. Through leadership of Production Supervisors and operational teams the incumbent drives continuous improvement workforce development and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with safety environmental and quality standards. Success is measured through strong performance in safety service productivity cost management employee engagement and customer satisfaction.

What does an Operations Manager do
Operations Leadership & Performance
- Accountable for achieving plant safety quality delivery productivity and cost performance targets through effective leadership of production logistics warehouse and maintenance operations.
- Leads production execution to meet schedule attainment on-time delivery lead-time inventory and customer service objectives.
- Monitors and drives improvement in key operational metrics including labor productivity throughput scrap rework downtime and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Establishes staffing plans and workforce deployment strategies to support operational requirements while meeting labor cost and productivity objectives.
- Ensures production capacity resources and organizational structure align with business demand and operational goals.
- Develops and implements action plans to address performance gaps and achieve annual operating plan commitments.
Safety Quality & Compliance
- Champions a safety-first culture and is accountable for achieving plant safety objectives including injury reduction near-miss reporting corrective action completion and regulatory compliance.
- Ensures compliance with environmental health safety and quality management systems and drives continuous improvement in safety and quality performance.
- Drives continuous improvement in product quality defect reduction customer complaints and cost-of-poor-quality metrics.
Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
- Leads Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety quality delivery capacity and cost performance.
- Sponsors Kaizen events 5S programs and process improvement activities to eliminate waste improve workflow efficiency and increase operational effectiveness.
- Establishes performance management systems and visual controls to track results and drive daily accountability across the operation.
- Identifies and implements process improvements that enhance operational efficiency scalability and customer responsiveness.
Financial & Business Performance
- Develops and manages departmental operating budgets to achieve productivity cost and profitability objectives.
- Monitors labor material inventory maintenance and overhead costs implementing actions to improve financial performance while maintaining service and quality standards.
- Supports capital planning initiatives by identifying operational improvement opportunities developing business cases and leading implementation of approved projects.
- Utilizes operational and job-costing data to improve estimating accuracy product profitability and business decision-making.
People Leadership & Talent Development
- Builds a high-performing operations organization by setting clear expectations establishing accountability and developing supervisory and frontline leadership capabilities.
- Leads workforce planning succession planning talent development and employee engagement initiatives to ensure organizational readiness and business continuity.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborates with Supply Chain Engineering Quality Maintenance Customer Service Estimating Project Management and Sales teams to achieve business objectives and improve customer satisfaction.
- Communicates operational performance risks and improvement opportunities to plant leadership and business stakeholders.
- Supports implementation of strategic business initiatives new product introductions capacity expansion projects and operational transformation efforts.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises the following roles: Production Supervisors (2) Production Planner (1)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business administration engineering or a related technical field.
- 7 years manufacturing operations experience.
- 3 years leading supervisors or equivalent operational leaders.

- Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies such as RCFA and 5-Why.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets labor costs productivity metrics and operational performance measures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP systems; SAP experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a focus on results.

Required PPE includes hard hat (when required) safety glasses earplugs steel toe/composite boots and fall protection.
