Job Summary
Scope of WorkAccountable for the management of the locations profitability and long-range growth while meeting overall corporate objectives. Provides leadership and direction for the location. with and builds teamwork with all location support staff and departments. Schedulesparticipatesinand/or conducts project owners owner representatives architects engineers trade contractorsvendorsand others who are associated with project related serves on various committees andparticipatesin special trade-related activities and for the attainment of location performance goals and the formulation of short and long-rangeobjectivesto support the Companys strategic plan. Responsible for leading and overseeing multiple projects consisting of on-site supervision of general superintendent field supervisors leadpersonscrew leaders journeypersonsapprenticesand/or forlayout of project work and ensuring that materials toolsequipmentand information are scheduledtimelyto meet scope and construction with Project Manager(s) General Superintendent and Human Resources for reviewing project documents; plans and specifications; directing construction activities; resolving construction obstacles; coordinating field installations and project closings; and developing andmaintainingclient relationships all within project cost time and quality standards while adhering to standard operating RequirementsUsesGaylor Performance Values as tools to carry out all job responsibilities. Manages/participatesin the Companys core business practices with the geographical area of responsibility. Develops maintainsand implements plans supporting the Companys strategic goals. Establishes annual budget guidelines for the annual plans including operating budgets staffing plans marketing plans and capital expenditures. Identifiesfuture and strategic market opportunities. Oversees development and implementation of training programs related to construction safety estimating human resource management quality control loss prevention project management and related business management topics. Guides and assistsemployees inidentifyinganalyzingand resolving existing oranticipatedobstacles in a manner to meet project schedules. Manages the selectiondevelopmentand retention of location staff through clear expectationsmotivationand cooperation. Resolves operational problems with the location and alerts the Executive Vice President to problems of significance to the Company. Organizes and prioritizes workload to meet deadlines. Works with Project Manager/General Superintendent in personnel alignment and scheduling to facilitateweekly action plans. Ensurestimely billing approval of invoices regular review of job cost reports projecthistoryand purchase order history. Informs clarifies and confers weekly project progress with motivates coachesand develops assignedemployeestechnical methods by givingaccurateand non-bias job performance appraisals. Ensuresthe Gaylor Project Management Initiative PMI and Gaylor Supervisors Management Initiative SMI are adhered to. Cultivates working relationships with project managers supervisors fellow workersand customers that encourage a cooperative environment. Makes routine inspections of projects to verify project scope and specifications company standards and compliance arewithinlocaland National Electric Code. Accurately documents project work situations in a timely manner both written and verbal to ensure protection of Company through proper documentation ( liensand or claims). Ability to modifybehavior style and management to effectively manage tasks requiring change in work plans orschedule. Participates actively in the improvement process of the location and Company. Ensures that all Company policies are communicated clearly and implemented. Schedules maintainsand coordinates accordingly calendar of appointmentsmeetingsand travel itineraries. Maintains appropriate records files documentationetc. Set by example acceptable work practices that will be emulated by fellow employees. Report accidents or incidents to the Risk Management Director and Safety Manager in a timely manneras outlined per Company policy manual. Conducts project closings meetings for lessons learned. Cultivates new business relationships and maintainsexisting relationships with clients through monthly public relations activities and membership in professional trade-related organizations. Utilizes Company computerized estimating programs for change orders and estimates Updates job skills by participatingin offered training sponsored by the company. Maintains confidentiality of all ConditionsMay require working in all elements (heat cold rain snow etc.) depending on job location and/or time of yearMust be able toutilizeconstruction site sanitary facilities (port-o-lets)Must haverequiredhand tools at all timeswhile at work site (waist tool belts can weigh up to 30 lbs.)Must be able to work scheduled hours as well as overtime asrequired on short noticeMust be able to work in noisy environmentsMust be able to remain calm in times of heightened emotional situationsMust work well with others as a member of a team to complete tasksPhysicalRequirementsMust be able to wear personnel protective equipment (i.e. hard hat safety glasses gloves high visibility vest safety harness etc.) whenrequiredAbility to bend stoop squat crawl climb kneel balance push pull and reach overheadRepetitive use of arms hands and fingersPossess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected)Ability to make transition from designated employee parking areas to construction areas and be able to gain access to all levels of building/structure even if only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction butdeemedsafe for useAbility to work while constantly moving on ones feetAbility to reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures whilemaintainingbalanceAbility to work while sitting or standing forlong periodsMust be able tolift upto 20 pounds at timesLicense Requirement:Onlyin states :Bachelorsand/orMasters Degree(or related degree) or equivalent studies/experience.
