As an Operations Engineering Co-op/Intern you will provide technical support primarily to plant operations groups from troubleshooting complex systems to optimizing production processes. Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically 36-40 hours a week on site.
9/80 schedule if applicable
What will you do
Day to day work assignments assigned by the supervisor and could include:
Identify and resolve root causes of issues in sulfuric processing and production systems.
Improve the efficiency of converter systems water treatment and overall sulfuric acid plant systems.
Evaluate and enhance the performance of unit operations in the Sulfuric Acid department.
Observe work during a turnaround outage and participate in equipment inspections.
Participate in the development and implementation of digital tools for operations.
Perform duties as assigned.
Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization including management plant operators engineers (of various disciplines) maintenance automation lab personnel and contractors.
Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
Adhering to Mosaics mission guiding principles and priorities and key competencies.
What do you need for this role
Junior level or higher by January 2027 pursuing a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering.
2.75 GPA or higher
1-2 years of experience volunteering working with student/school organizations or work is preferred.
Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
Reliable transportation and valid drivers license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
Ability to work full timeand be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete thefollowing:Post-offer/pre-placementdrug and alcohol screening background check physical functional capacity examination.
Basic computer skills are required.
Experience working in a team environment is a must.
Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.
Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.
Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
