Theprogramprovides270scattered-sitescattered unitsof supportive housingto HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) is the sole referral source for this the units are leased in the agencys nameand sublet to clients who aresingle individuals; howevertheprimary clients spouse/domestic partner and/or their minor or adult childrencan reside in the unitwith the proper program has two components to assist clients succeed:case managementservices andhousingservices. Case management staff focus on removing barriersfor clientsto maintain medical care and achieve viral suppression by ensuring that all clientsbasic needs are metbyconnecting themto needed services such asmedicalmental health and/orsubstance abuseservices. Thehousingcomponent focusesonensuringunits meet habitability standards by working with landlordsmanagement companies property managers and/or property superintendentsto addressrepair issues and completeneededrepairsin a timely manner. This component alsoidentifiesnew units negotiates/preparesleasesandgets vacantunits readyfor addition clientswith no incomereceive partial financial assistancetowardstheir utility withanincome other than Public Assistance must paya portionof theirhouseholdsincome to the program as rent.

Position: Operations Coordinator

Reports To: Senior Program Director

Location: Brooklyn NY

What Does the Operations Coordinator Do:

  • Identifysuitableapartmentfor eligible clients.
  • Obtain leases and other required documentationfrom landlord and prepares lease packages for processing.
  • Submitsnewleasesand/or lease renewal packagesfor reviewto Operation Supervisor/SeniorProgram Managerin a timely manner.
  • Ensuresthat apartment units are ready prior to occupancy.
  • Schedulesandaccompaniesnewclientsand current clients if neededtoapartment viewings.
  • Set up utilities with electric and gas utility companies.
  • Prepare and submit furniturerequestfornewapartment set-up.
  • Prepare newstart-up supplies fornew incomingclients.
  • Schedule and participate inallclientsmove ins.
  • Act as liaison betweencasemanagers maintenance workers andagencys fiscaldepartment to address various plans maintenance work/repairs fiscal issues.
  • Submit programs weekly vacancy report on a weekly basis.
  • Keep track of expiration dates of leases.
  • Process work orders asneededand reviewsall signed work orders to ensure work has been done.
  • Reviewsall utility bills and submitstoagencys fiscaldepartmenton a weekly basis.
  • Investigate clients complaints of unpaid utilitybillswith agencys fiscal departmentcase conference with case manager and client if necessary.
  • Conduct program required unit inspectionsas required by funding source.
  • Maintain accurate records ( maintenance supplies food office stock) on premises and/or in community-based apartments.
  • Input all provided client related services into programs assigned database- i.e. Client Track CAPS etc.
  • Request Emergency Assistance to assist clients in paying clients portion of utility bills if needed.
  • Respond immediately to emergencies and inform supervisor.
  • Participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested.
  • Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What are the Qualifications for the Position:

  • Sufficient education and technical expertise: to comprehend written and oral instructions (work orders); basic math to accomplish maintenance tasks; and to document accomplished tasks.

Minimum Experiences and Skills Required:

  • Relevant experience preferably in a mid-sized (250 employees) organization working with persons with ahistoryof homelessness mental illness and/or substance abuse.
  • Good written & verbal communication.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish.

Compensation: $53045 annually

Status:Full-time
