Operational Technology Director

As the Operational Technology (OT) Director you are the strategic leader of everything that keeps ASIs physical and industrial systems running: the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) infrastructure the Operational Control Center (OCC) site systems and the OT / Information Technology (IT) boundary. You own OT as a product and a service: its roadmap its outcomes its customers and its economics. Our Information Systems team is moving from a traditional functional IT model to a Capability Pod structure five autonomous outcome-driven pods that each own a domain end to end and you will build and lead the Operational Technology capability within it.
You are not the deepest technical hand on the team. That is your Tech Lead who owns architecture and delivery and reports to you. Your job is to set direction win and manage customer and stakeholder relationships build the team own the budget and hold the pod publicly accountable to its Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You report directly to the Vice President of Information Systems and are the accountable owner and business incident commander for all P0 OT events. Coverage runs 24 hours a day six days a week.
Responsibilities
Own the OT capability roadmap treating OT and the OCC as a product with internal and external customers.
Identify and pursue OT service and data revenue opportunities with ASI customers.
Publish and answer for the pods KPIs on the company dashboard visible company wide.
Serve as the primary face of OT to customers negotiating scope and managing expectations on Control Center and site deployments.
Partner with Facilities Manufacturing Security and Compliance and the product teams on shared operations boundaries and data pipelines.
Represent OT in executive and customer forums translating technical posture into business terms.
Define the OCC operating model at the business level including coverage strategy Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) escalation paths and continuous-readiness culture.
Act as business-side incident commander for P0 events owning customer and executive communication post-incident accountability and follow-through.
Recruit develop and lead the pod including the Tech Lead engineers and OCC analysts.
Manage the OT budget and the procurement of site equipment and resources.
Set OT / IT boundary policy jointly with Security and Compliance with your Tech Lead implementing it.
Required Qualifications
12 years in operational technology industrial operations or control center leadership including several years in a senior leadership or director role.
Experience designing and standing up large-scale operational or control centers and growing them into sustained operations.
Customer-facing and commercial experience including direct ownership of customer relationships and the diplomacy of competing stakeholder interests.
A product or Profit and Loss (P&L) mindset thinking in roadmaps outcomes SLAs and economics rather than tickets.
Proven people leadership including building and developing teams and managing technical leaders who report to you.
Executive communication skills briefing and aligning technical and non-technical audiences with equal ease.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in robotics mining manufacturing or other industrial environments with physical-safety implications.
Experience running OT as a customer-facing service or product line including pricing or commercial models.
Familiarity with AI-assisted OCC tooling and modern automation as force multipliers.
Experience building an OT function at a growth-stage or scaling company.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods.
Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment continuously.
Ability to communicate and exchange information in person via phone and through electronic means.
Ability to traverse office Operational Control Center manufacturing and customer site environments as required.
