This role serves multiple regions throughout Oregon and Washington. The ideal candidate would reside in either the Portland or Seattle area.

This position includes being on-call approximately one weekend each month including possible travel in Oregon or Washington.

Open Adoption & Family Services a program of Boys & Girls Aid is seeking a full - time (32hrs) Counselor to join our team.

What Youll Do

• Provide unbiased all-options pregnancy counseling and resource referrals to expectant parents
• Educate and guide prospective adoptive families through the steps of the adoption process including training home study interviews and report writing adoption planning placement and navigating open adoption relationships.
• Coordinate adoption plans including working closely with clients and hospital staff attorneys and other community partners.
• Conduct outreach presentations and trainings that promote OA&FS services and the concept of open adoption to diverse populations including prospective adoptive parents service providers and organizations.

What Were Looking For

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in a relevant field plus two years of relevant experience in social work child development counseling or psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience with infant adoption may substitute part or all of two-year work experience requirement.
• Masters Degree from an accredited program of social work counseling or closely related field is preferred.
• Valid drivers license and good driving record.

Nice to have

• Spanish bilingual skills are encouraged but not required.
