$28.03 per hour; Compensation will be based on education experience skills relevant to the role and internal equity.

A. POSITION PURPOSE

Support research activities in the research group of the faculty supervisor (Professor On Shun Pak) at Santa Clara University

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Conduct research projects

  • Under direct supervision of supervisor conduct research activities to a high standard that leads to publications

  • Assist with the dissemination of the results of the research

2. Other duties as assigned.

C. PROVIDES WORK DIRECTION

D. GENERAL GUIDELINES

Recommends initiatives and implements changes to improve research quality. Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices. Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives. Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow. Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions. Prepares and submits reports as requested and required. Develops and implements guidelines to support the functions of the unit.

This position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.

Knowledge in fluid mechanics and computational modeling

Theoretical and/or computational skills in fluid mechanics

Perform research in fluid mechanics

B.S. in Engineering Physics Mathematics or closely related fields

of Experience

0-2 years of theoretical/computational research experience required.
