New Hire Experience:

1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement up to aten-year maximum

New Hire Education:

1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

Job Summary:

To provide clerical support to assigned personnel in support of the departments functions and services; and to contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform receptionist duties answer phones greet and direct visitors
  • Respond to inquiries from students parents district personnel and/or public for the purpose of providing information and/or direction or refer to appropriate personnel
  • Assist clients in completion of paperwork for various programs; distribute school supplies to students and NAEP staff for school sites; use Synergy to verify student forms (Title VI JOM and CIB)
  • Process documents and materials in support of the departments functions and services
  • Prepare a variety of materials and documents for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties
  • Distribute materials and documents for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties
  • Perform general clerical tasks in support of assigned personnel
  • Regular and on-time attendance required
  • Update NAEP district website and other social media outlets (Facebook Instagram and the like)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
  • Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools

Required Qualifications:

  • High School education or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Clerical experience

  • Moderate proficiency in typing with good accuracy; average test battery
  • Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word Excel etc.)
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with students parents district employees and public; to be tactful and diplomatic and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize prioritize take initiative and direct own workload while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Located in the main office of a school which is climate-controlled and has standard office furniture
  • Frequent contact with students parents teachers administrators and sometimes outside visitors
  • The environment can be busy and sometimes hectic especially during the beginning and end of the school day or around special events
  • Regular use of phones computers copiers fax machines and printers
  • Mostly sedentary work but there may be frequent need to stand walk or move around the office
  • Occasionally required to lift or carry boxes files or office supplies (typically up to 2025 lbs.)
