Our agency is looking to fill a full-time non-permanent Office Assistant (OA3) position within the Community Corrections Division.This position works for the Spokane Special Assault Unit (SAU)located at 1717 West Broadway Spokane WA 99201. This non-permanent (temporary) appointment is expected to last about six months.
The Spokane SAUsupervises a caseload of registered individuals who have been convicted of a sex offense by the Superior Court. Exposure to sensitive material is common.
Under general supervision from the Administrative Assistant 4 (AA4)this position performs file management and routine advanced clerical support tasks for the AA4 Community Corrections Supervisor (CCS) and Community Corrections Officers (CCOs). Working independently you will perform a variety of complex clerical projects and assignments and perform duties involved with working at the reception desk. Work hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Primary receptionist for the unit.
- Greet and direct clients general public and/or stakeholders to the appropriate staff.
- Manage a multi-line phone system.
- Ensure the main entry door is unlocked at 8:00 am; and the door is locked at the close of business at 5:00 pm.
- Assist the Special Needs Unit (SNU) as needed
Provide general clerical support.- Manage electronic and physical files.
- Enter and retrieve data from various systems such as Offender Management Network Information (OMNI) and OnBase.
- Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Six months of clerical experience with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include Word Outlook and Excel.
- And must possess and maintain an unrestricted drivers license valid in the state of Washington.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Must respect and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds.
- Ability to file use proper grammar punctuation and spelling.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers the public and criminal justice agencies/stakeholders.
- Two years of clerical experience with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include Word Outlook and Excel.
