Pay Range: $91289 $114112 annually plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

Shift: Days Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Location: 1333 Mt. Prospect Rd. Des Plaines IL 60018

Position Summary

As the Ocean Export LCL Supervisor you will lead the day-to-day execution of CEVAs Ocean Less-than-Container Load (LCL) export operations. This role oversees both on-site and remote team members to ensure operational excellence service quality and workflow efficiency across a fast-paced global logistics network. You will be responsible for leading a high-performing team maintaining strong customer and carrier relationships ensuring regulatory compliance and driving continuous process improvements that support operational and financial success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Lead daily Ocean Export LCL operations ensuring the accurate and timely processing of bookings routing documentation and cargo consolidations.
Supervise coach mentor and develop a team of export agents by providing ongoing training performance feedback and career development opportunities.
Manage customer escalations with urgency and professionalism ensuring timely resolution service recovery and a positive customer experience.
Collaborate with ocean carriers Container Freight Stations (CFS) and CEVAs global network to optimize service performance capacity and cost efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all applicable international trade regulations CEVA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and customer-specific requirements.
Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements that enhance accuracy productivity service quality and overall workflow stability.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) operational metrics and shipment volumes providing regular reporting and actionable insights to leadership.
Support financial performance by ensuring billing accuracy monitoring costs improving file profitability and maintaining operational controls.
Foster a collaborative customer-focused culture that promotes accountability teamwork and continuous improvement.



Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in Transportation Logistics Supply Chain Management Business or a related field preferred.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in logistics freight forwarding or international transportation.
Previous supervisory or team lead experience within a freight forwarding or logistics environment preferred.
Minimum three (3) years of hands-on Ocean Export experience including extensive knowledge of LCL operations strongly preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Strong leadership coaching and employee development skills with the ability to motivate and build high-performing teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across diverse cross-functional teams and global stakeholders.
Ability to read analyze and interpret business documents technical procedures customer requirements and government regulations.
Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to prepare reports business correspondence and operational procedures.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management employees customers and business partners.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Outlook Word and PowerPoint) and web-based business applications.
Experience with CargoWise One is strongly preferred.
