This position has a Premium Pay Rate
Weekend Position consisting of working 46 out of 52 weekends in Lakeland Medical Center SJ as the need arises. The weekend is defined as shifts between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm on Saturday & Sunday. Specific times may vary according to location/need. Position includes working at least one summer & one winter Holiday weekend.
Assess plan organize administer document and evaluate direct occupational therapy patient care in accordance with accepted occupational therapy practice and the physicians overall treatment plan.
Essential Functions
Perform a thorough and complete evaluation of patients properly referred according to Michigan law in order to determine the patients rehab potential and establish an individually based treatment plan.
Administer occupational therapy treatments to patients according to professional standards and department standard operating procedure in order to maximize the patients potential functional level and to achieve treatment goals set in coordination with patient/family physician & other team members. Maintain and complete accurate documentation department records and reports for all assigned patients in order to provide a clear record and to communicate patients treatment plan and progress to the referring physician.
Maintain commitment to professional growth and competency to ensure the quality of care.
Contribute to the efficient and productive operation of the rehab services.
Maintain effective communication with other members of the rehab team regarding occupational therapy programs to ensure understanding and better patient care.
Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety quality of care and excellent service. Adhere to the organizations published values.
Qualifications
Required Bachelors Degree or equivalent from an accredited therapy program
LIC-Occupational Therapist - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) - NB-COT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Upon Hire required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross required
