As our OB Tech you will assist in the smooth daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit performing direct and indirect patient care and supporting surgical procedures.
Every day you will assist with vaginal deliveries under RN and provider direction function as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures maintain supplies and equipment and assist with Point of Care Testing and High Level Disinfection equipment. You may also perform patient care duties such as vitals hygiene and basic care for antepartum postpartum and newborn patients as well as clerical/business support tasks.
To be successful in this role you will possess strong clinical support skills in OB/GYN settings meticulous attention to detail in patient care and equipment management flexibility to perform varied tasks and a commitment to our organizational mission and core values.
- Functions as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures demonstrating appropriate skill to scrub a variety of cases.
- Sets up sterile tables with instruments supplies equipment and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
- Performs appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation before incision is closed and as needed.
- Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures by checking package integrity indicators and opening procedures.
- Prepares and sterilizes supplies and equipment used in procedures and disposes of sharps/contaminated materials appropriately.
- May provide patient care including comfort and hygiene measures safety measures transport nutritional and elimination needs and wellbaby care such as bathing infants bottle feeding transporting cord care and weighing of infants.
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Basic Life Support; Refer to CS Addendum and UT License and Certification Grid
- Colorado Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technician upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license certification or registration (required for Colorado employed staff only)
Preferred
- Completion of a Surgical Tech program
- One (1) year patient care experience. i.e. OB Tech LPN/LVN EMT CNA Medical Assistant or Surgical Tech experience
