Pay Rate: $40/hr to $43/hr
Contract: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 4x10s 7:00 AM 5:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Experience: Operating Room / Scrub Tech experience required
About the Role
Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton New York is seeking certified Surgical Technologists to support its Operating Room team. This is a 13-week contract opportunity in a 25-bed critical-access hospital serving Central New York. The role is ideal for experienced OR Scrub Techs who are comfortable working in a rural hospital setting with adult geriatric and occasional pediatric surgical cases.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and operating room staff during surgical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain sterile instruments supplies and surgical fields.
- Support patient safety by following infection control and sterile technique standards.
- Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure proper handling of instruments and equipment.
- Assist with room turnover case setup and maintaining OR readiness.
- Work collaboratively with nurses anesthesia surgeons and other clinical staff.
- Document and support workflow using paper charting and Sorian for ordering.
Requirements
- Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist.
- Operating Room Scrub Tech experience required.
- Must be comfortable with 4 OR rooms and 3 PACU bays.
- Experience with adult and geriatric surgical cases preferred.
- Pediatric exposure is a plus.
- Must be able to work 4x10 day shifts.
- No on-call requirement.
- Local and travel candidates accepted.
- 50-mile radius rule applies; local rate may apply.
