The NVH (Noise Vibration and Harshness) Engineer is responsible for analyzing developing and improving vehicle or component-level NVH performance. The role focuses on reducing unwanted noise and vibration while enhancing overall ride comfort refinement and perceived product quality.
The engineer works across design CAE and testing teams to ensure NVH targets are met throughout product development.
Develop and execute NVH performance targets for vehicle or component systems
Perform NVH analysis using simulation and testing methods
Identify and resolve noise and vibration issues in early and late development phases
Conduct modal analysis frequency response and structural vibration studies
Correlate CAE models with physical test data
Support design improvements for:
Powertrain NVH
Body structure NVH
Road noise and wind noise
Conduct root cause analysis for NVH issues and propose engineering solutions
Work with cross-functional teams including design durability and vehicle dynamics
Support prototype and production vehicle testing
Document results and present technical findings to stakeholders
Ensure NVH requirements are met during program milestones
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Automotive Aerospace or related engineering field
Experience in NVH engineering or vibration/acoustics analysis
Strong understanding of:
Structural dynamics
Acoustics fundamentals
Vibration theory
Experience with NVH tools such as:
LMS / Siemens Simcenter Testlab
Required Skills:
NVH engineering or vibration/acoustics analysis
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Automotive Aerospace or related engineering field
