Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

The Nutrition Coordinator will serve as coordinator of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) program including operation reporting and regulatory compliance. This position is responsible for menu planning food and supply procurement as well as food preparation and effective kitchen management.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

2 years experience with food preparation and food program documentation preferred.

Current CPR certification through AHA is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Ability to read and follow instructions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.

Working knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.

Valid drivers license and clean driving record.

Must be at least 21 years of age to operate CDS vehicles.

Proficient with Google Suite or related software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Plan and prepare nutritious breakfast lunch & snacks for infants toddlers and preschoolers following CACFP guidelines.

Maintain CACFP program records daily meal count and complete monthly reporting requirements.

Submit monthly CACFP claims for reimbursement.

Attend necessary training to stay abreast of CACFP requirements.

Document and adhere to food allergies.

Prepare and/or arrange food for special occasions.

Shop for food and supplies for the center.

Complete purchase requisitions and code them according to CACFP requirements.

Maintains cleans and sanitizes the kitchen and other assigned areas.

Cleans and sanitizes dishes utensils pots pans and other containers and returns to the appropriate location in the kitchen area.

Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.

Maintain supplies in all first aid and clean up kits.

Maintain kitchen inventory list.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling some climbing and balancing frequent stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 15% sitting 20% walking 65% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with exposure to risk of injury.

Pre-employment drug testing is required for all CDSFC positions. The Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Safety Policy is available from the Human Resources office.
