CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Nursing FacultyEMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing FLSA STATUS: Exempt DIVISION: Academic Affairs CAMPUS: Central Campus DISTINGUISHING JOB CHARACTERISTICSEngages students in the teaching/learning process in classroom lab and clinical; works assigned schedule participates in college committee work represents the college in the community and performs other related duties as DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully an individual must perform essential duties to expected performance standards. The work requires the use of safe work practices with office class room laboratory and clinical care equipment and observance of safety PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe following physical demands are typically used to perform this jobs essential duties and responsibilities. Vision demands include close relatively detailed vision with the ability to adjust focus when typing or reading a computer screen. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required if master degree in nursing not completed. Expert level of medical/surgical nursing practice required. Two-years of clinical nursing experience as a registered nurse during the past five years in the area instruction will be provided is required. Five or more years registered nursing experience is preferred. Previous experience as a licensed practical nurse or expert level of knowledge of the licensed practical nursing scope of practice is must successfully pass required background checks in accordance with Southern State Community Colleges policies and procedures and applicable to document identity and employment eligibility as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTSValid and non-restricted registered nurse licensure in state of Ohio
