Job Description

Rochester Community and technical College is accepting applications for an Unlimited Full-time Nursing Faculty. This position becomes unlimited upon completion of the required probationary period.


Faculty responsibilities include developing and delivering course content; preparing instructional materials and laboratory activities; assessing and evaluating student learning and performance; maintaining appropriate course records; and continually evaluating courses to support student learning and program outcomes. The instructor will provide guidance and support to students both inside and outside the classroom to promote academic progress skill development retention and successful completion of the program.


Consistent with the MSCF collective bargaining agreement faculty work also includes professional responsibilities beyond classroom instruction including student advising course preparation and evaluation professional development committee participation classroom research community service and service to the college.


The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty staff administration and industry partners; remain current with evolving building systems technologies codes and industry practices; maintain a safe and effective learning environment; and contribute to the continued development and success of the Facilities and Services Technology program.


Anticipated start date: January 11th 2027.

Salary Range:

Salary is dependent on education and experience in accordance with the Minnesota State College Faculty MSCF bargaining agreement (available on the Minnesota State website or by clicking here). The range for this position is $43067 - $98660. Official transcripts and job verification required upon hire. The position also includes excellent fringe benefits.


Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement

  • Graduate degree with a major in nursing or
  • Bachelors degree in nursing and a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education.
  • A nursing program director must hold a graduate degree in nursing nursing administration nursing education public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty.



Occupational Experience Requirement

  • Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.
  • As a registered nurse at the professional level experientially qualified to accomplish the mission goals and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach.

Recency Requirement

  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement

  • Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota.
  • Other Requirement: Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience in or demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and equity-focused working and learning environment.
  • Teaching experience at the community /technical college level or demonstrated commitment to the mission vision and values of community and technical colleges.
  • Evidence of active and experiential learning strategies.
  • Experience in assessment of student learning that includes a variety of summative and formative strategies.
  • Evidence of active and continuous professional development.
  • Exceptional team player who is willing to devote time to students and the department.
  • Recent experience in Acute Adult Care nursing.
