Position Summary:

Sovah Health Danville is seeking a Nurse Technician under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) performs basic patient care activities and unit support tasks to promote safe efficient care and patient throughput. Assists with activities of daily living routine monitoring and maintaining a clean well-stocked environment; supports nursing/physician staff and tech desk operations.

Essential Functions

• Performs basic patient care as delegated and supervised by an RN including monitoring vital signs possible blood glucose measurements and accurate intake/output recording.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing grooming eating toileting ambulation).
• Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical mental or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms and common areas clean safe and appropriately stocked.
• Manages the tech desk; supports nursing/physician staff and department throughput.
• Documents care and activities per unit standards.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Critical thinking decisive judgment ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

Minimum Education:

• High School diploma preferred.

RequiredCertifications/Licenses:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required; Handled with Care preferred.

• SRNA or EMT preferred.
