University Hospitals Avon Rehabilitation Hospital is a state-of-the-art 50-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to helping individuals regain their independence and return to the lives they love following an injury or illness.
Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey. We offer customized individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke brain injury neurological conditions trauma spinal cord injury amputation and orthopedic injury.
How youll contribute
ACertified Nurse Aide who excels in this role:
- Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients age.
- Notify appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain.
- Prepare patients for meals; serve and remove food trays and assist with meals or feed patients if necessary.
- Answer patient call lights anticipate patients needs and make rounds to assigned patients.
- Assist patients with the handling of personal property: dentures glasses contact lenses hearing aids prosthetic devices etc.
- Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Transport patients to and from various departments in the hospital.
- Report and when appropriate record any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients and unusual incidents.
- Assist in the preparation of admissions transfers and discharge of patients.
- Assist licensed nursing staff with treatment procedures.
- Provide general nursing care: position patients lift and turn patients utilize special equipment assist patients with the bedpan commode; assist ambulating patients.
- Obtain and record temperature pulse respirations blood pressure weight intake and output.
- Make rounds with oncoming shift to ensure the unit is left in good condition.
- Consult other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patients needs.
- Other duties as assigned
What were looking for
Applicants should have:
- Completion of course for nursing assistants
- Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant
- CPR/BCLS Certification
- Minimum six months experience in an acute or long-term facility preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Schedule: Per Diem (PRN)
