Overview

A high-volume neurology and stroke program in Arlington Texas is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to support its inpatient neuro hospitalist service.

This role operates within a hybrid neurology care model providing comprehensive inpatient neurological care across acute care step-down and critical care environments. The ideal candidate will have strong inpatient clinical experience excellent communication skills and the ability to manage complex neurological conditions in a collaborative healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient neurology and stroke patients across acute care step-down and ICU settings
  
• Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and develop treatment plans
  
• Participate in acute stroke response and rapid evaluation protocols
  
• Collaborate with neurologists hospitalists nurses and interdisciplinary care teams
  
• Interpret diagnostic studies including imaging and laboratory results
  
• Manage high-acuity neurological conditions such as stroke seizures encephalopathy and neurotrauma
  
• Support patient throughput discharge planning and transitions of care
  
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
  
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs
  

Requirements

Required

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  
• Active Texas APRN and Registered Nurse licenses or eligibility for licensure
  
• Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP or ACNP preferred)
  
• Minimum of two years of inpatient or hospital-based Nurse Practitioner experience
  
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  

Preferred

• Experience in neurology stroke neurocritical care or hospital medicine
  
• Experience with stroke protocols ICU-level care or hospitalist workflows
  
• Familiarity with electroencephalography (EEG) lumbar puncture procedures or advanced neurological diagnostics
