Overview
A high-volume neurology and stroke program in Arlington Texas is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to support its inpatient neuro hospitalist service.
This role operates within a hybrid neurology care model providing comprehensive inpatient neurological care across acute care step-down and critical care environments. The ideal candidate will have strong inpatient clinical experience excellent communication skills and the ability to manage complex neurological conditions in a collaborative healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
Manage inpatient neurology and stroke patients across acute care step-down and ICU settings
Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and develop treatment plans
Participate in acute stroke response and rapid evaluation protocols
Collaborate with neurologists hospitalists nurses and interdisciplinary care teams
Interpret diagnostic studies including imaging and laboratory results
Manage high-acuity neurological conditions such as stroke seizures encephalopathy and neurotrauma
Support patient throughput discharge planning and transitions of care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs
Requirements
Required
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Active Texas APRN and Registered Nurse licenses or eligibility for licensure
Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP or ACNP preferred)
Minimum of two years of inpatient or hospital-based Nurse Practitioner experience
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

Experience in neurology stroke neurocritical care or hospital medicine
Experience with stroke protocols ICU-level care or hospitalist workflows
Familiarity with electroencephalography (EEG) lumbar puncture procedures or advanced neurological diagnostics
