Summary:

Assures optimum quality patient care by serving as a cardiac navigator resource liaison for all ancillary departments and medical staff members.

Reports to: Director of Physician Services

Essential Functions:

• Performs assessment skills.
• Plans nursing care.
• Intervenes with appropriate action after needs are identified.
• Evaluates the assessment planning and intervention process.
• Demonstrates professional and personal development.
• Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the age of patient served including adult and geriatric patients.

Additional Skills:

• Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Requires excellent organizational skills and knowledge regarding the cardiac patient population to effectively identify the patients needs and address them in a timely manner.
• Must have good communication skills with patients family and or caregivers.
• Collaborates well with all physicians and coworkers.

What were looking for

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)(preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - to be obtained within 6 months
• Two years of RN experience(required)
• Active North Carolina RN license (single state) or compact required. If relocating licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins
