Nuclear Medicine/PET CT Technologist

Willowbrook Cardiovascular Associates is adding to our team and in search of a Full-Time Nuclear Medicine / PET CT Technologist in Houston TX. This position is based in our Dotson Road office location.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Explains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results
  • Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials calculate doses and administer doses under direction of Physician
  • Performs diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET CT studies on patients as prescribed by physicians including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.
  • Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters scalers and scintillation detectors
  • Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials
  • Maintains quality control of all equipment
  • Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
  • Attends required meetings
  • Performs related work as required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • Must be confident with working independently in a very busy private cardiology practice setting.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
  • Must be registered with ARRT or NMTCB
  • 2 years of experience preferred not required.
  • Open to new Graduates
  • BLS/CPR Certification
